How Many Patents Does Spray-Net Have?

Spray-Net holds four patents based on three unique innovations, each designed to enhance the durability, adaptability, and performance of our spray-applied coatings. These patents set us apart in the industry, allowing us to offer a factory-quality finish with the flexibility of on-site customization.

1. Weather-Adjusted Coatings for Optimal Dry Time and Durability

Our first-ever patent—and one of our most impactful innovations—is our weather-adjustable coating application process, designed to ensure that our coatings cure optimally in real-world conditions. Unlike traditional coating application methods, our proprietary software directs our applicators on exactly how much of our proprietary chemical additives to mix into the coating on any given day.

This is powered by an algorithm that factors in ambient temperature, humidity, and surface conditions, which are inputted in real time. The software then determines the precise amount of chemical additives needed on-site to optimize drying time and ensure a smooth, uniform, and durable finish.

By adjusting the formulation based on climate conditions, we eliminate common issues like uneven drying, premature peeling, and poor adhesion—problems that often plague traditional paint applications. Since our coatings are custom-formulated for each surface, this additional layer of precision ensures a factory-quality dry film that allows us to confidently back our coatings with a 15-year no-peel warranty—a level of protection that’s unmatched in the industry.

2. Vinyl Shield Basecoat for Heat Distortion Resistance & Dark Colors

One of the biggest challenges in repainting vinyl siding is the risk of heat distortion, particularly when applying darker colors. Darker shades absorb more heat, which can cause vinyl to warp or buckle—a well-known limitation that has led many traditional painting methods to avoid dark colors on vinyl altogether.

Spray-Net’s patented process drastically reduces the risk of warping by incorporating our Vinyl Shield basecoat, a proprietary formulation that fortifies vinyl surfaces and increases their heat distortion resistance.

Our patented approach analyzes the desired color and the gauge (thickness) of the vinyl siding to determine whether our Vinyl Shield basecoat is required, ensuring each project

is optimized for durability. This innovation makes it significantly safer to update vinyl surfaces with bold, modern colors—without compromising structural integrity.

3. Roof Coating with Encapsulated Roofing Granules

Traditional roof coatings are often purely cosmetic, offering color changes but no structural benefits. Spray-Net’s patented spray-applied roof coating is engineered differently—it encapsulates real roofing granules within the coating itself, reinforcing the surface rather than just covering it.

This breakthrough technology enhances both wind and impact resistance, making the roof stronger than new while allowing homeowners to update the color of their shingles. It provides a cost-effective, durable alternative to full roof replacement, significantly reducing waste, installation time, and cost. Instead of simply restoring an aging roof’s appearance, our process actually improves its overall strength, durability, and longevity—offering a true performance upgrade rather than just a fresh look.

Why These Patents Matter

Each of these patents represents a significant leap forward in how coatings are applied, customized, and optimized for long-term performance. From our weather-adjusted coating process that ensures optimal application conditions, to our Vinyl Shield basecoat that enables safer dark color applications, to our granule-infused roof coating that enhances structural integrity—our patented innovations redefine what’s possible in exterior home refinishing.

Spray-Net’s approach isn’t just about making surfaces look better—it’s about making them perform better, last longer, and provide real value to homeowners.
